The Last Commission Ministries

The Author
Rev. Kenneth V. Reeves (July 26, 1921 – August 12, 2005) was a lifelong minister, pastor, evangelist, and Bible teacher whose ministry spanned more than six decades. Born in rural Jackson County, Illinois, he experienced a profound spiritual calling at a young age when, as he later recounted, an angel appeared to him and presented him with a Bible, foreshadowing his future ministry to explain the Scriptures. At age sixteen, despite promising prospects as a baseball player, Reeves turned his heart toward God, repented, was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and received the Holy Ghost. From that point forward, he devoted his life to studying God's Word, preaching the gospel, and sharing his faith across towns, cities, and rural communities throughout the nation.
Throughout his ministry, Rev. Reeves was known for his deep commitment to prayer, biblical teaching, and pastoral care. He served numerous congregations before returning to Granite City, Illinois, in 1956 to pastor the church where his spiritual journey began, faithfully leading the congregation for 49 years. He was widely respected for his humility, steadfast dedication to Scripture, and compassionate service to others. Although he earned several law degrees, including two Juris Doctorates, he chose to dedicate his life entirely to ministry. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Norma Lee Reeves, and his family, Rev. Reeves left a lasting legacy of faith, leadership, and devotion to God that continues to impact lives today.
